Our Lands End to John O'Groats challenge completed yesterday. 13 residents walked a total of 899 miles and it took exactly 6 months! We walked our last lap together, received medals and presented a cheque for £1400 to NHS Charities together. What a fantastic achievement. Well done to all our residents who took part. Our Winter challenge is Coast to Coast!
When our residents feel the need for a bit of variety in their lives as we move into Autumn, we don't just go for a walk to get out, we hire a boat and sail along the Thames! With a few glasses of bubbles, the sun shining, a tasty lunch and great company, there was no better way to spend the afternoon
We welcome private appointments at any time, but if you would prefer a less formal visit, feel free to attend one of our forthcoming Open Days:

The sunsets from our roof terrace are phenomenal! Last Sunday evening we relaxed and chatted on the terrace, drinking prosecco and enjoying nibbles to watch the sun go down. There aren't many places in Windsor where you get the view of the sunset like on the terrace at Castle View. Another lovely evening with friends and neighbours.
Something a little different after our Tuesday night supper! Residents were entertained by the De-Lovlies! After Caz served up another delicious meal in the restaurant, we took to the Sky Lounge for some 40's entertainment. Singing and dancing and amazing costumes! The De-lovlies had to keep their distance of course but they were amazing, we will definitely ask them back!
CEO Robin Hughes and his mum Betty take a stroll around the grounds to do their laps for our Lands End to John O'Groats challenge - everyone is doing their bit! Betty has looked so well since moving to Castle View, with regular strolls in the fresh air and getting together with other residents for coffee, lunches and events, Betty's lifestyle really is tip top!
All our residents got together this week to celebrate Chris' birthday (we always find an excuse!) With the prosecco flowing followed by dinner in the restaurant, there was another night of smiles and laughter at Castle view!
On Saturday, residents and staff welcomed 3 new residents to Castle View. Pammie, Audrey and Arnold moved in just a few weeks ago and have settled in very quickly and are happy to say it's one of the best decisions of their lives. With a whole new circle of friends and fantastic communal facilities, life couldn't be better!
Daniel is one of our night managers and has been with us since we opened 18 months ago. Sadly, he has to return to his home town in New Zealand due to his visa expiring. Daniel has been a fantastic member of the Castle View team and all the staff and residents are very sad to see him go. As Daniel is related to our CEO, Robin Hughes, I'm sure this is not the last time we will see him here in the UK. Good luck Daniel and safe travels!
Our residents love to have a drink on the terrace and take in the incredible views of the castle to one side of the building and views over the treetops towards legoland from the other side. You can also see the copper horse from our roof! Bill and Carol returned home for the first time since lockdown started after getting locked down in the Isle of Wight. They were thrilled to be back and catch up with all their friends and neighbours and share a glass of bubbles!
Anyone for a game of ping pong? Our residents are keeping fit and active with the arrival of the new table tennis table. Residents Jill and Chris are the first to practice their ping pong skills! We think a competition will be on the cards soon! The table is set up on the ground floor, with bifold doors opening to the garden so a fabulous area to get a bit of exercise and have some fun!
Last week we invited prospective buyers to a social distancing garden party where they could view our show apartments, communal areas and chat to the team about living at Castle View. Refreshments were served in the Sky Lounge and residents joined (at a very safe distance) to enjoy a glass of prosecco on the terrace. We were extremely lucky with the glorious weather!
Residents enjoy social gatherings in the library when it is not being used to read their favourite books, magazines or newspapers. The library is such a lovely cozy room with bifold doors that open out onto the gardens and outside seating. There is always a different area of Castle View to relax in depending on your mood and we are pleased to see the library being used more and more for quiet hours, coffee mornings, jigsaw puzzles and social gatherings
We had a full house for our cold meat and salad selection last night. Another great supper at Castle View, residents helped themselves to a wonderful choice of cold meats, hot potatoes and salads from the servery. Not only was the food great the company was just as good, with laughter heard around all around the room. Well done Caz!
Our very handy Night Manager, Nigel has built us a new tool shed! With the help of CEO Robin Hughes and Finance Director, James (pictured) the new shed now houses all the gardening and maintenance equipment. It's extremely organised and tidy! There really is no end to the talents of the CV team!
The Castle View team are in Tescos, Dedworth this week answering everything you need to know about living at Castle View. If you are out shopping, don't be shy, please come and say hi to Ruth, Lisa, Sue and Anne
With the gardens in full bloom, the grounds at Castle View are looking stunning. We have been open 18 months now and the plants and flowers are maturing beautifully. Here is a picture taken by Chris Dufty whilst doing her laps for charity around the building. A beautiful peacock butterfly and a bee together on the buddleja.
After a short stay with her daughter, we are thrilled to have the lovely Betty back at Castle View. Betty is CEO, Robin Hughes' mum and was the first resident to move into Castle View. When Betty is not sitting watching the world go by from her window, she's either drinking coffee or having lunch in the restuarant and enjoying having a chat and a laugh with the residents. This is Betty with our fab restaurant Manager Caz
Residents helped themselves to fresh fish set on a bed of ice along with salad from the servery on Tuesday evening. All prepared by our amazing catering manager, Caz. If fish wasn't your thing, delicious homemade lasagna was also available. A great evening, fantastic atmosphere, fantastic food and great company!
